When faced with a seemingly overwhelming situation or one that you have not experienced before, it's normal to stop dead in your tracks and feel somewhat stunned by a turn in events.
2020 has been a memorable year for a variety of reasons, pandemics aside, lockdowns, politics etc. With that in mind, what next? How do you keep positive, organised, motivated, hungry?
Taking control of what you can, is the key to success. Worrying about things that are outside of your control is a waste of energy and will drain you mentally over time.
Positive activities, interactions, rest, discussions, music, reading, openness and empathy help us to view scenarios that we are in, through a different lens. It helps relax our minds from focussing too much on the stress and strain that we may be experiencing.
Coaching is one way of navigating your career and life in general, it's great sometimes to have a sounding board that is not connected to the workplace or an immediate circle of friends or family. Having a different perspective on how to navigate ever changing circumstances can be enlightening.
There's no simple answer to many of these questions, but they are nevertheless ones' that I have no doubt many of us are asking ourselves regularly. How we adapt and change over the coming months and years will define us.
